About Amber
I am a practising Film & TV lecturer currently teaching RSL Level 2 and Level 3 Creative Media qualifications in further education. Alongside my teaching role, I am also a practising sound designer and post-production mixer, working within creative audio and film production. This industry practice informs my teaching and allows me to support students with both the technical and creative aspects of media production.
My teaching focuses on developing students’ practical production skills alongside their understanding of film language, storytelling, and the assessment criteria needed to succeed in vocational media courses. I support learners in planning, producing and refining their creative work, including short film projects, camera operation, lighting techniques, editing workflows, and post-production sound design.
I also help students understand how to interpret assignment briefs and meet grading criteria effectively, which is often the most challenging part of creative media qualifications. My experience across both production and post-production means I can support students in creating more polished, industry-aware work from initial idea through to final mix.
My approach is practical and supportive. Sessions are tailored to the student’s current project or goals, whether that is improving a coursework grade, developing a short film idea, or learning editing and audio post-production skills using industry-standard workflows.

Sessions are structured but flexible depending on the learner’s needs. We can focus on a current assignment, break down assessment requirements, or develop practical production skills through guided tasks.
My aim is to make creative media work clearer, more achievable, and more enjoyable while helping students improve both confidence and outcomes.
