About Sacha Adib
I am a film director and screenwriter with professional experience across independent features, short films, and commercial productions in China and internationally. I hold a BA in Film and Media Arts from American University and am the founder and director of Cor Productions, a corporate film studio based in Shanghai.
My films have received international recognition, including Cocoon, which won Best Experimental Short at the New Renaissance Film Festival in Amsterdam and Best Short Film at the International Road Movie Festival, and Beings of Light, which won at the Prague International Film Festival and WorldFest–Houston, among others. My work has also been covered by Forbes China, and I have had creative participation in a film featured by The New York Times.
Alongside my teaching, I continue to work actively as a director, creative producer, and screenwriter. As a tutor, I value discipline, clarity, and honest feedback, and I aim to provide a rigorous but supportive learning environment for serious students.

My lessons are designed for university-level students and aspiring filmmakers who want to develop real creative and professional skills, not just theoretical knowledge. As a working film director and screenwriter with international festival experience, I teach filmmaking as a complete process from script to screen.
My approach is mentorship- and critique-focused, especially suited for online one-on-one teaching. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals and current projects. A typical session may include detailed script feedback, directing and performance analysis, visual storytelling exercises, or guidance in editing and post-production.
I place strong emphasis on screenplay writing, directing actors, shot design, and narrative clarity. For students preparing portfolios, short films, or festival submissions, I provide structured guidance through each stage of development.
I work best with motivated university students and serious beginners who want disciplined, professional feedback and long-term creative growth. Lessons are offered primarily in English, with the option of Chinese support when needed.
