  • 1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in chess when I was a child. A family member taught me the basics, and I was immediately fascinated by the blend of strategy and creativity required to play. Over time, chess became more than just a game-it was a way to challenge myself intellectually, improve my focus, and learn patience. The beauty of chess is its infinite complexity; there's always something new to discover, which keeps me inspired.
  • 2) What makes you passionate about your subject?

Chess is a universal language that brings people together across cultures, ages, and skill levels. I'm passionate about the game because it's not just about competition-it's about personal growth. Chess teaches critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience, all of which can be applied to life. Being able to share this with my students and witness their progress is incredibly rewarding.
  • 3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Tutoring allows me to share my love for chess while helping students achieve their goals, whether it's winning their first game or excelling in tournaments. What makes me a "Superprof" is my ability to adapt my teaching to suit each student's learning style and level. I focus on making chess accessible and enjoyable, while also emphasizing the strategic depth of the game. My goal is to build not just strong players but confident thinkers.
  • 4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

One of my role models in chess is Anatoly Karpov, who exemplifies precision, patience, and strategic brilliance. On a personal level, my first chess coach inspired me to see the game as more than just competition-it's an art form and a discipline. Their calm, encouraging approach to teaching showed me the importance of meeting students where they are and helping them grow at their own pace.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

The keys to success in chess, and in life, are preparation, adaptability, and a growth mindset. Preparation ensures you're ready for any challenge, while adaptability helps you respond to unexpected situations on or off the board. A growth mindset reminds you that setbacks are opportunities to learn and improve. For my students, I emphasize these principles to help them succeed both in chess and beyond.
