About Dinesh
I am a passionate and experienced chess player with a deep love for teaching. With over a decade of competitive chess experience, I have proudly represented Malaysia five times at the national (Kebangsaan) level, and was crowned champion in the All-Malaysian Indian Chess Tournament. I also had the honor of representing Malaysia in the Asian Chess Championships, competing against some of the strongest talents across the continent. Currently, I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in AI Engineering, where I combine my analytical mindset with creative teaching methods. As a 1900-rated player on Chess.com and a FIDE-rated player (1654), I have developed the knowledge and practical skills to guide beginners and intermediate players on their chess journey. My approach is student-focused, fun, and structured — whether you're looking to win school tournaments, sharpen your strategy, or simply enjoy the game more deeply. I'm here to help you grow, step by step, with motivation and care.

As a 1900-rated player on Chess.com and a FIDE-rated coach (1654), I specialize in helping beginners (0–1300 rating range) build a solid chess foundation. I’m currently pursuing a degree in AI Engineering, and I bring a logical, structured, and interactive approach to every lesson.
My classes are 1-on-1 and fully personalized based on the student's age, skill level, and goals. I use engaging content, real-time practice, and fun puzzles to keep students motivated and improve their critical thinking. Whether it's a child learning the rules or an adult aiming to win local games, I adapt my teaching to suit their pace and style.
Each lesson is typically 60 minutes and includes:
Review of previous games or homework
Concept-based learning (openings, tactics, endgames, etc.)
Live play with analysis and feedback
Short, focused challenges to reinforce the lesson
My teaching is ideal for:
Kids (7+) and teens just starting out
Adults who want to learn chess as a hobby
Anyone under 1300 rating who wants to improve faster with structured guidance
If you’re looking for a patient, motivating coach who makes learning chess fun and goal-oriented, I’d love to work with you!
