About Andres
I am Andres Escobar Medina, a FIDE Master with a peak rating of 2343 and over 13 years of experience teaching chess to students of all ages and levels. My online ratings on Chess.com (2808 bullet, 2719 blitz) reflect my active, high-level understanding of the modern game.
My approach is not about memorizing openings—it's about teaching you how to think. I help students build solid positional understanding, improve decision-making, and develop a logical chess mindset that works in any situation.
I have taught beginners, club players, and tournament competitors across the globe, now based in Hong Kong. My lessons are structured, patient, and adapted to your specific goals—whether you want to break a rating plateau, prepare for competition, or simply enjoy chess at a deeper level.
