About Syeda
I'm a Graduated Fashion Designer with 7 years of experience in Fashion industry and 05 years of teaching as a fashion educator. I later gained a Pattern Making Diploma with Highest Distinction from the renowned “Istituto Secoli” in Milan, a leading Italian fashion school with international students from all around the world. I worked for major Milan, Venice and New York luxury fashion brands (RALPH LAUREN, DIESEL) and I lived in Australia for years perfecting my level of English I developed a well-rounded experience and knowledge from design to pattern making, garment construction and production. I love clean lines, the subtle complexity behind plain sculptural volumes, silk and CHALLENGES! I have eye for colour and proportions, extreme precision and attention to detail. I spontaneously invest a lot of passion and energy in sharing and teaching what I know and what I have learned in my school, professional and life path. Those who know me define me extremely engaging and competent in explaining my subjects clearly and this is my greatest satisfaction.

My teaching is based on the knowledge and on the MILESTONES I acquired during my studies combined with my job’s PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE: from ready-to-wear to high-end fashion, to luxury. My method is to socialise and challenge the person's ability to take control of the situation in a logical way. we start with the regular crafts till creating the dreamed wardrobe. I like to involve you using extra resources, VIDEOS, TUTORIALS so you can keep learning after the lesson! HOW ARE THE LESSONS ORGANISED? After listening to your needs and requests, I draw up a personalised programme for any level, from basic to advanced. You can choose from the following topics (and beyond): 1. BASIC SEWING: how to use the sewing machine, stitches and machine stitching, hand stitches, small sewing works, garment repairs 2. GARMENT CONSTRUCTION & TAILORING: cutting, construction, tailoring 3. PATTERN MAKING: patterns, transformations, size grading, made to measure, fitting, Moulage 4. FASHION DESIGN: collection design & development, colour palette, sketches, technical drawings, textiles, prints, fabric, colour rendering, face rendering 5. FASHION PORTFOLIO: Collection board, collection design, material research, research boards, and mood boards HOW DO ONLINE LESSONS WORK? I am 100% equipped (tested and working method!) to teach you comfortably from home through SKYPE/ WHATSAPP/ ZOOM video call or your preferred video call app. I will show you all the steps you have to take on my sewing machine or by manual techniques. You’ll never be alone! In addition, I will send you some support material. WHAT MATERIAL DO I NEED? I’ll give you all the details depending on the programme. You’d generally need: . . For the Fashion Illustration lesson: I'll guide you about all mediums. . For sewing/construction lessons: - sewing machine (any model is good for getting started) - sewing set (scissors, needles, pins, thread, fabric scraps, remnants, tailors chalk, measuring tape) for Fashion Portfolio: I'll guide you about all mediums. For Pattern making lessons: - large sheets - pattern making set square and ruler - stationery, measuring tape, awl.
