About Gunita
I am a Policy Adviser in the UK Civil Service with a strong academic background in Politics, Human Rights, and Public Policy. I hold a BA in Politics from the University of Leicester and a Master's degree in Human Rights from University College London (UCL), one of the world's leading universities.
My professional experience in government allows me to bring politics and policymaking to life, connecting academic theory with real-world practice. I have worked on complex policy issues, developed evidence-based recommendations, and contributed to decision-making processes at the heart of government. This practical insight helps students gain a deeper understanding of how political institutions, public policy, and governance operate beyond the classroom.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities and achieve their academic goals. Whether you are preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, studying Politics or International Relations at university, or working on essays, coursework, or dissertations, I provide patient, supportive, and structured guidance tailored to your needs.
My approach focuses not only on improving grades but also on developing critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and effective communication skills. I pride myself on being approachable, professional, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging ideas.
I understand that every student learns differently, and I work closely with each individual to identify their strengths, address areas for improvement, and build the confidence needed to succeed academically and beyond. My goal is to help students become independent, capable learners who can engage thoughtfully with the political and policy challenges shaping our world today.

I take a student-centred approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the individual's goals, learning style, and current level of understanding. Whether a student is preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, university coursework, or applications, I focus on building both subject knowledge and the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in Politics, Government, International Relations, Human Rights, and Public Policy.
My teaching combines clear explanations of key concepts with active discussion, exam-style practice, and structured feedback. I encourage students to engage critically with political ideas and contemporary issues, helping them develop strong analytical, evaluative, and essay-writing skills. For university students, I also provide support with research methods, academic writing, dissertations, and policy analysis.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged for coursework, dissertation support, or intensive exam preparation. Each session is structured around clear learning objectives and includes opportunities for discussion, application of knowledge, and review.
I hold a BA in Politics from the University of Leicester and a Master's degree in Human Rights from University College London (UCL). Alongside my academic background, I work as a Policy Adviser in the UK Civil Service, giving me practical experience of policymaking, government processes, and public affairs that I bring into my teaching where relevant.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students studying Politics or related subjects, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students in Politics, International Relations, Human Rights, Public Policy, and associated disciplines. I also support students with university applications, personal statements, and those seeking a deeper understanding of politics and public policy beyond the classroom.
