About Scott
With extensive experience and a deep passion for teaching, I guide students to develop both technical skill and artistic expression on the piano. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in Music, giving me a strong foundation in theory, performance, and pedagogy. I have taught learners of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced students preparing for exams, recitals, or competitions. My lessons are student-centred, tailored to each individual’s goals, abilities, and learning style. I use real-life examples and case studies to make rhythm, melody, and harmony understandable and relatable.
Motivation is central, and I encourage students to set goals, track progress, and celebrate each achievement. Problem-solving is incorporated into lessons to develop critical thinking and independence. I teach with integrity, maintaining a safe, honest, and supportive environment where students feel confident to explore and learn from mistakes. I am highly flexible, adapting lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and objectives. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and composition for a complete musical education. I prepare students for exams, competitions, and performances while fostering creativity, confidence, and discipline. Lessons are available online or in-person for all ages.
