About Norah
I am a guitar tutor with 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance. I have successfully guided over 250 students from complete beginners to advanced performers across classical, jazz, acoustic, and electric guitar styles. My lessons cover scales, modes, music theory, chord harmony, rhythm development, songwriting, and live performance preparation. I am passionate about helping students develop creative independence and a playing style that is genuinely and authentically their own. My lessons are structured, engaging, and always personalised to the individual student's goals and musical interests. I use DAWs, backing tracks, and chord apps to make lessons modern and practically relevant. I have coached students for live performances, music school auditions, and original recording projects. My guitar lessons are structured to develop strong technical foundations alongside genuine musical creativity in every session. I begin by assessing each student's current level, goals, and preferred style so that every lesson is immediately relevant and motivating from day one. Warm-ups cover scales, chord transitions, and picking exercises designed to build the physical coordination and muscle memory needed for fluent playing. Music theory is introduced progressively alongside practical playing so students develop real musical understanding rather than just mechanical skill. Students interested in jazz receive coaching in chord voicings, improvisation over changes, and the harmonic language of jazz phrasing. Those drawn to blues and rock work on pentatonic scales, bending, vibrato, and expressing genuine emotion through the guitar. I use backing tracks consistently to develop timing, groove, and the ability to play expressively within a musical context. Songwriters receive dedicated sessions on chord progressions, melody writing, and turning original ideas into finished compositions. I provide clear feedback and a specific weekly practice plan after every session so students progress consistently between lessons. My commitment is to make every student a confident, versatile, and genuinely passionate guitarist.
