Mr. Bunch was my International Baccalaureate (IB) History teacher, as well as UCAS supervisor for the application process to UK universities. We covered together a breadth of topics, delving into the medieval history of the Iberian peninsula, but also exploring more recent and political history of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. With Mr. Bunch's support, I acquired this vast array of historical knowledge, which is now very useful to me in my undergraduate studies of History at the University of Cambridge.
If I were to briefly describe Mr. Bunch, I would say he had the potential to be a university professor, who is able to debate with students on niche topics, has read very widely, and can prepare lecture-style classes. I think he was limited by the high school class setting and the very different interests and engagement levels of students in the same group. I therefore believe that Mr. Bunch would do very well as a tutor, as he would dedicate himself fully to one student at a time, in the same way an academic would do so in a seminar or one-on-one supervision in university. His teaching abilities would best shine in a context where he could more deeply connect with the student and tailor his teaching style and pace to their needs.
Overall, I would say Mr. Bunch has great experience, having taught the IB for many years and being acquainted with almost all the papers offered for history in the programme. His own life stories and anecdotes that he at times shared with us in class also divulge his wisdom. Hard-working and very responsive, Mr. Bunch would be a wonderful tutor on political, historical, and even philosophical topics within the Humanities.

Nicholas taught me History in high school; he's a great History teacher and his lessons are always interesting. He’s able to cover a range of topics with a lot of detail, while still keeping it engaging for students. It’s because of his unique teaching style and guidance that I pursued and am now completing a degree in History at the University of Oxford.

Mr Bunch is wonderful tutor/teacher. His lessons not only taught me about historical facts, but fundamentally changed the way I perceive historical and modern events.

I was taught about conflicting view-points and debates between historians, which gave me much more in depth understanding of different conflicts. Despite having his own personal opinions, Mr Bunch still presented conflicts in an impressively unbiased way, which really let me form my own view point. I think this is especially important at the moment considering how the media, on both sides of the political aisle, seems to presents issues in a very one sided manner.

Another aspect of his lessons which I greatly appreciated was how events were presented. Mr Bunch is a very talented story teller and it was easy to become completely immersed in what he taught.
