About Vanessa
I am currently a college student. I have been swimming since I was 7 years old & I swam competitively for about 8 years (including 4 years for my high school’s swim team). I have been teaching kids for about 4 years. I am able to relate to some difficulties kids have when learning cause I’ve either had the same difficulties or know someone who has. I find different ways to helps kids learn & have fun while teaching.
The best part about teaching others how to swim is seeing the progress they make. It is amazing seeing kids who were once afraid of the water be able to swim across a pool. I always make sure that my students know that they can reach any level of swimming they want as long as they practice & never give up.

First I ask the student or their parent what their goal is or if they wish to learn anything specific. I always allow new students to show me what they know.

She’s very patient & tries different ways to help the kids. She gives them confidence & doesn’t allow them to give up. I have seen great improvement with my kids
