About Sarah
When I was in 5th grade, our class welcomed a new student from the other side of the globe. She didn't speak much English, and she didn't really like talking to others or asking questions because of it. I helped her a lot that year, not only with math and science, but also with learning English. Since then, I have loved helping individuals to reach their full potential in whatever challenges they may face.
I have been a tutor at my high school for 2 years, and I tutored at an elementary school for 2 years as well. I am currently a college student double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology, and I am minoring in German (and possibly Spanish as well). So, although I don't have any formal education related to teaching, I am very knowledgeable in many subjects and have spent a considerable amount of time helping individuals with their academics.

First it is important to get to know the student and their goals, and then it is important to understand how each individual student learns best.
Once I can begin to understand the student, it is essential that we find materials to work with, or create assignments to work on together.
I have worked primarily with first and second year Spanish students, but I have tutored other subjects as well. I have also worked with many students struggling with disabilities relating to math and/or English comprehension. I have tutored both elementary and high school students in various subjects.
Choose a tutor that appeals to you and your interests. It is much easier to learn in an environment where you feel comfortable and can express yourself freely.
