About Amy
I've been songwriting for over 20 years and pursuing an active music career for over 10 years, performing across Texas and other states. I traveled to Nashville frequently to hone my craft and learn about the industry and what they look for in a hit song. I primarily write folk music, but I am able to help anyone who wants to write in the pop or country genres as well. I have recorded and released 2 albums and 3 singles, which you can listen to on my website: amygoloby.com. My fans have said that my songs have healed them from dark times and are a medicine to the soul.
I would love to work with you on crafting relatable, emotional songs that speak to people and keep them coming back for more of your songs. Whether you want to be famous, write for famous artists, get your music on TV/film, or just be an independent artist, I can help you hone your craft and become a better songwriter so you can reach your music goals.
I studied songwriting with the Nashville Songwriters Association International. I also studied songwriting at the Wildflower! Arts and Music Festival in Texas. I have over 20 years of experience in songwriting and recorded over 20 songs professionally with Nashville producers.

I typically like to talk about your songwriting goals first because that will affect what kind of songs you need to write. Then I will assess your current songwriting skills, which will determine at which level to start my teaching.
Study your favorite songs- their song structure, lyrics, rhyming patterns, and hooks. Start gathering ideas for lyrics and hooks in a notebook.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your songwriting goals? Do you want to have your song on international radio and get signed to a major record label? Do you want to write for famous artists and get a publishing deal? Do you want your music on TV/film and pursue sync licensing? Or do you want to be an independent recording artist who writes the songs you want to write?
Your goals will decide what kind of songs you need to write and what direction the class will go. I can help guide you in these decisions and give you insight how to achieve these goals.
