About Marcia
I fell in love with sewing at the tender age of six, learning to hand sew in first grade.
Everything they bought me either spun around or fell down. I started to pin everything to fit my tiny waist, then I learned how to back-stitch by hand and it changed my life.
Studying Clothing and Textiles in High School further, was the beginning of a lifelong journey.
I have more 30 years sewing experience, worked 13 years at Simplicity Pattern Company as a Technical Writer, writing detailed sewing directions for home sewers. Worked 3 years at Vogue, McCalls and Buttrick Pattern Company as a Technical Writer also.
Aquired my Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising.
Work in the Garment Indusrty of New York as Techical Designer, creating technical packages for garment development and production.

Finding out why they want to learn and what they want to achieve.
Learning to sew takes a lot of patience and doing something over and over until you master it. So I try to let them understand that immediately.
