When someone is started out, I like to start with explaining how to set up the sewing machine to sew and the different types of needles, threads and materials that are used with one another.

Then learning how to read the size and materials on a purchased patterned followed by cutting out the pattern as instructed.

How to then follow and sew following the pattern instructions.
