About Mike
We work with students of all ages, to learn Scuba Diving and how to responsibly (and safely) explore the aquatic realms!
We have online content to make it easy to start! This is the book portion to develop your knowledge. Of course, we'll meet in person to do your pool training and actual diving!
As Instructor and Master Scuba Diver Trainer, I have certified hundreds of students and led dozens of amazing dive trips over the years, all over the globe. I am a trained Biologist as well, and share my knowledge of the marine and freshwater environments with my students.
What is especially unique about Aquatica Diving is that we can create a custom training program for you, around your schedule! Have group of friends, family or coworkers? We can come to you and set up your own custom dive training.

I have taught college level courses for over 15 years, mainly in Biology but also in several other disciplines. I have done research diving and became an Instructor through that process, and started a scuba club at ASU where I began by certifying my friends and going on trips!

First, the above is not correct; I travel ALL OVER THE US to train students if needed, and can meet them internationally too!
My process: I speak with them to talk about scuba diving and why it interests them, and find out more about their concerns or special needs. I also outline the pathway of learning how to dive, how to become fully certified, and how to continue their learning while having great adventures... and making memories to last a lifetime.
All ages, from 10 to 85, from all backgrounds. Strong swimmers, and those who have never swam at all! Also I have helped train Adaptive Divers, which are divers who have some type of physical limitation which requires assistance with one or more experienced divers.
The certifying organization is not that important... (PADI, NAUI, SSI, SDI, etc.) but your Instructor is!
Choose an instructor who makes you feel comfortable, is patient and understands your individual needs.
Also a long track record and experience beyond just instructing scuba let's you know they are probably a well-rounded teacher... and person!
We do many trips, and had an amazing Spring Break trip last year to Hawaii! I used to live there, so guiding trips to the Islands is one of my specialties.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try to rank your needs from most important to least important. Sometimes just addressing the most important needs will make the less important needs not a need at all!
For Scuba Diving, it is all about your comfort. The whole point is for you to be a part of and enjoy underwater environments. My job is to help you find your individual pathway... and once you are on it, you are on your way to having many adventures and amazing experiences. Your only limitation is your willingness to have them!

We teach many students at ASU in Tempe, AZ. Our prices are listed on our Scuba Club site, are for students at ASU, and serve as a basis for classes, lessons, and dive trips (asuscuba.com) Prices are slightly higher for non-ASU students, and depend on number of people in your group, location (we can come to anywhere in the US, or meet you worldwide for custom training.
