About Gloria
Being able to read well is so important to your education. I love to teach early reading skills and am good at it! I've been doing this for over 41 years. I have a Masters Degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia.
I enjoy helping young students become better readers, to gain confidence in themselves, and to learn to love reading as much as I do.
I have 41 years of education experience teaching grades Kindergarten, First, and Fourth and also was a Reading Specialist for 10 years. I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in both Early Childhood Education and Reading Education.

I will first talk with the student to gain an understanding of who they are and what they're interested in.
I would then do a spelling assessment and a reading assessment to gain knowledge for placement in appropriate text.
After that is determined, we will make reading a priority at every class, work on spelling features, work on sight word recognition, comprehension, and writing sentences and stories.
