About Travis
The Scottish ancestry of the Brown families’ descendants for over 15 generations are rich in the culture of musical diversity. More recently and modern; Dr. Travis W. Brown presents with 35 years of experience in music. Award winner and Composer, Publisher, Producer, Theatrical Technical Director, Recording Artist and Writer (member of ASCAP & BMI), Actor and Entertainer. Graduate St. Thomas Moore University Cincinnati Ohio, Graduate Stamps-Baxter School of Music Nashville Tenn., Graduate Dr. Charles Novell’s Christian School of Southern Gospel Music and Raleigh Peace College N.C. – Competitor adjudicator of Italian and Latin voice. Graduate Charles Feltner School of Music Writing -specialized in copywriter infringement laws/legal laws of contractual and mechanical license agreements. Owner: recording studio 15 years. Multi-Musician/Performer/Studio session player: Piano, Organ, Synthesizer, Bass, Drums, Acoustic, Mandolin, Harmonica and Percussion. Toured 12 states as a concert trained pianist in Southern Gospel and Country Gospel.
I enjoy the preservation of all my knowledge by bestowing it though my student. I feel that once a teacher has initiated his/her student into the craft that we are passing onto that student all the secrets of the teacher’s knowledge and culture. Therefore we are ensuring the continuance of knowledge and it is secured within someone as a medium to also one day to pass it on and forward again. This to me is better than just recording my knowledge onto a compact disc. I also feel that a student should always surpass his/her teacher in skill, knowledge and technique. If the initiated student does not surpass the teacher then that teacher not been a very good and effective one. I believe that the way to lead a student is to lead from the rear. Put that student in front of you, push them out there and point out the way encouraging them to keep pressing on. I love to be able to give back to my community and to history through the gift of knowledge. There can be no substitute for my graves head stone than that gift I place into the hands and head of my student. God knew what he was doing when he put our brain and our hands between our hearts because it is the heart that one must learn to master and use to keep that beat of the rhythm of the music. However, that which we place within our hands we take into our hearts thus now the rhythm and beat of the music and the heart has come full circle like that of the wedding ring a circle without beginning or end it is infinity forever.
