About Anna

Hi

I am a Hungarian trained classical artist/musician with a Bachelor's degree in chamber performance and in teaching violin and viola.I grew up as an orphan.I started my studies at the Janos Patzay Music School.I started to learn the violin at age 5 and the piano at age 15.In 1998,I went to Bela Bartok Music High School, then I continued at the University of Miskolc Bela Bartok Institute of Music trough until 2008.In 2009,I was enrolled in Crown College for 2 years.I have been in different chamber groups through all of my schools.I also studied teaching techniques at the Beni Egressy Music School and as one of my final exams I did a diploma teaching.I became what I wanted to be, what I always dreamed of.Id be happy to give my knowledge and my love for music to those who's heart desires it.

I am a kind of teacher who expecting good work.I use a combination of fun and work together.I am really patient with my students, while helping them master new songs and techniques.I do not ask for perfection, but I do drive them to do their best. This is my motto:"Do the best you can",and"Be the best you can be".

I am a classically trained musician, and I believe that having a strong foundation of learning the basics is important:reading notes, rhythms,a little bit of music theory etc.You have to know the basics in order to be able to play them. How fast or slow we can move forward, and how much we can learn it really depends on the students.Assignments will be showed first, then we work on them together.I take practice very seriously. This time varies according to the student's age and skill level.Students will have a recital once a year.I encourage students to share their talent in community and school talent shows,at church,at family gatherings, and for friends.

I moved here to the United States after my diploma concert in 2008.

I was adopted by my now parents and started learning English at the University of Minnesota. Then I studied in Crown College for 2 years.

Then I started working. Of course with my degree and coming from another country starting my dream job wasn't as easy as it seemed/or as I thought. I wasn't afraid working in other areas, but it wasn't what I wanted. So, my planning and getting myself out there, giving the chance for people to get to know me as a musician and teacher finally my time to shine was at my doorstep. In 2012 I started teaching and doing what I love the most...

First, I set up a meeting with a potential student/parents, which considered being the first lesson in a way. I do not charge for this session. I personally like to get to know my student a little bit, and their story before we go any further. Then we talk about what's needed for the lessons books etc... I guide them in the right direction for getting an instrument only if they don't have one. I do help my students in any way I can if their situation requires it by landing for example books, instrument etc... Once everything settled we start our journey in this magical world of music.

I thaught students from age 4-70.

I believe it's never too late to do what your heart desires no matter how old you are.

I think there's a very common problem today with young children. They decide to start learning whatever instrument, but they don't realize they have to put time into it.

I try to tell them many times in our lessons that just think about the everyday life...relate to it...

Nothing's going to happen by slapping our finger together, from one moment to the other. We all have to put effort and work in everything we do. Even if someone is very talented at something, they still have to work and practice to get better at it. Maybe not as much work, but still work.

My life is a perfect example of not only one but many miracles. On my long journey I had the privilege to meet people that could only happen In my dreams. It just never seemed possible in my head. One of them became my very good friend and we play together on different occasions. She made me a part of her new CD that just came out (Those Timeless Vintage Melodies) and I was lucky enough to play in two of her songs.

It was a great experience and lots of fun.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have a plan.

Dont be afraid asking anything even if you think it might be silly. That's why teachers are here to help you to guide you in whatever direction you might choose.
