About Christopher
Hello new musicians. My name is Christopher Croucher. I am 45 years old, single dad of two children. I have been playing piano since the age of 4 and have been teaching piano for the last 20 years at a local music store. Due to COVID, I lost most of my students and have decided to teach online. I have also decided to go back to school. Not only will you get quality piano lessons, but you will also get music theory and repertoire work with my lessons. Also skills on becoming a working musician.
I teach from the ages of 6 on up. I have taught all ages and levels for the last 20 years. I can teach beginners to more advanced students. I love introducing new music to students who have never had the means to discover jazz, blues, and/or classical.
Through a local music store. I was teaching piano and all brass.
Currently at school to get my music education degree. I have been teaching piano at a music store for the last 20 years.

I always do a quick evaluation to see where the student stands and if they have any previous musical experience. THen we discuss goals and come up with a lesson plan together.
All ages and all stages of musical ability.
Have clear goals in mind. Be honest about what you want. If classical is not your thing, be up front about it. If you don't want to learn how to read, be open to the experience of being taught from a classical point of view.

Mr. Chris can teach multiple instruments and is very flexible with scheduling. Even when my son isn't having the best day Mr. Chris can work with him in music over video conferencing. His focus on the fundamentals of music and music theory are something that we haven't found elsewhere.
Chris' approach to teaching involves a very effective mixture of basic to challenging technical skills, multi-genre songs from classical to jazz to popular music, and has a great sense of humor which he injects in his lessons to keep it fun, but while being a strict taskmaster at times when necessary. Our son truly enjoys his lessons with Chris and has progressed from being a beginner, to handling some relatively complex jazz and contemporary material. His passion for music and piano has grown as well.
Chris does a nice job breaking down more complex parts into left and right hand movements, and measure by measure. We also like how he educates on some theory concepts, very good in building a strong foundation of musical knowledge. We're looking forward to seeing our son's continued development with Chris' guidance.He is direct to his students

Details
Each lesson is $25 dollar per lesson. Lessons are paid in full at the beginning of the month. Works out to be about $100 per month for 30 min lesson.
