About Daniel
I’m a professional pianist and piano teacher with over 16 years of experience working with students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players and returning adults. I’ve taught in private studios, pre-college programs, and at the university level in both Minnesota and New York City, and I currently teach at NYU.
I offer both in-person and online lessons, and my teaching combines strong technical foundations, musicianship, and music theory. With graduate degrees in both Piano Performance and Music Theory, I’m able to support students not only at the piano but also with theory, ear training, and overall musical development. I prepare students for recitals, exams (RCM/ABRSM), auditions, or personal goals.
Alongside teaching, I’ve performed internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Moscow International House of Music, and have received top prizes in several national and international piano competitions. I hold master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Music Theory from the University of Minnesota and am currently a doctoral candidate at NYU.

-MA Music Theory and MM Music Performance at the University of Minnesota.
-DMA Candidate in Piano Performance at New York University
-Multiple distinctions in and out of the country in important piano competitions.
-Experience in piano academies such as City Strings, CSMA, and Kramer School of Music, and Opus One Music
-Experience as a Teaching Assistant for the department of Music Theory at the University of Minnesota. Current instructor at New York University.
-Performance experience including feature recitals in USA, Costa Rica, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, Russia, and others.

I appreciate your interest in joining my studio! First, an introductory lesson will be offered to review aspects such as the student’s level, behavior, skills, personality, and more. It is also an opportunity for the student to ask questions and learn about my teaching philosophy. These aspects are taken into consideration to determine the best approach for the new student, including materials, scheduling, and methodology. Afterward, the student will receive a studio policies form to review (or, in the case of minors, for parents to review), a studio schedule for arranging lessons, and any related documents. Lessons will then proceed on a weekly basis for the duration you choose from the available options.
I teach students of all levels and ages with goals varying from exposure to the instrument and music in general to those seeking more technical and advanced knowledge.

Daniel is a very detailed-oriented teacher that will focus always in helping you where you most need it. His lessons are creative yet his plan very methodical and organized. I'm very happy for having him as a teacher and fully recommend him.
Daniel spends time in developing fundamental skills that will help the student play harder pieces. He is very patient, detailed, and methodical with his homework assignments. Lessons nonetheless are fun, specially when he gets his hysterical moments. He is a teacher that would leave you with a big smile and that would care about you as a student.
Daniel takes time to develop grounded skills which helps his students get better their techniques in hard pieces.

Daniel is patient and creative to teach my very young girl, who is a beginner. He makes the lessons fun and engaging, provides the material, and at the end of each lesson, explains us how to practice during the week.
