Annie is truly a gift of a music teacher. Her ability to engage, even through zoom, and teach our 8 year old multiple instruments is unmatched - and we've tried other teachers. I listen to their lessons from the other room, and my daughter is having so much fun - she barely realizes she's learning - always retaining and playing with heightened skill each week. Annie is the best.

Our girls (age 8 and age 10) love working with Annie! They started to play the ukulele in February and I am impressed with how quickly they are progressing. I am also impressed with how much they learn during a 30-minute session. Annie knows how to break learning up into manageable chunks so students continue to grow without feeling overwhelmed or shutting down. They learn something new with each lesson and practice those new skills during the week. Her lessons continue to build upon the skills previously taught which increases independence and confidence. She is passionate about music and that passion shines through with each lesson. I highly recommend her!

My 5-year-old son started to learn Ukulele with Annie a couple of months ago. Initially, he didn't like to practice at home, but now he practices for a few minutes every day without anyone tells him. It is hard to keep a 5-year-old boy motivated, but Annie has been doing a great job. She is very kind and patient and knows how to teach to little kids very well.

Even though we have had to do all of our lessons online, she has taken our son from never holding an instrument to being able to play two! She is kind, understanding and always positive. Annie is the best! My son has been working with her for a little over a year. His skill, musicality, and confidence have grown dramatically under her musical attention and support. This week his band director made this comment while encouraging others to seek out Annie as a music instructor: "This instructor works with one of our members and that member has been improving by leaps and bounds!" My son looks forward to his weekly lessons, and now dedicates time to practice and prepare for his lessons (not always a priority for a HS Jr.) Annie's musical knowledge and professionalism, along with her caring and encouragement, have challenged my son to be a much more focused and accomplished musician. Annie gave our (University of Iowa) a terrific hour-long presentation on the history and technique of the natural horn. It was excellent, engaging, and informative in every respect, a demonstration of the skill and knowledge of a real professional. The students greatly profited from her expertise, and I am plotting to have her back soon to teach us more. She is a wonderful player and teacher!

We hired Annie to teach private French Horn lessons to our daughter after the school year was cut short due to the pandemic. After just a month of lessons, she was playing with more confidence, enthusiastic about practicing(!), and expressing pride in her progress.
