Experienced tutor in Piano in Grass Valley, Hafdis offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

She is able to motivate the students to work hard and do their best while keeping their lessons fun and enjoyable. She is very patient and knowledgeable.

Hafdis is very knowledgeable and a great piano teacher and you can tell she has worked well with and taught many children. Despite never having “met” her in person and doing lessons from the beginning through FaceTime, due to the pandemic, she has been able to create a fun and working and lasting relationship with my son, allowing for a good learning environment. She is patient, yet pushes her students to learn the right techniques. She has been more than flexible in scheduling when she can to help work lessons around our work schedule. She even helped to break the ice during the beginning when we needed more of a “personal” interaction (again Facetime) and when she heard my son likes jokes, she would give him one during the lesson to capture his attention. Now he looks forward to “seeing” and having a lesson weekly with Hafdis, yet she still kindly gives him a riddle weekly that we all enjoy, and brings a smile to his face. He has progressed playing the piano from never having played this school year to reading music, knowing the notes on the piano, playing intervals, playing with both hands, and most importantly feeling proud of himself and “liking” the music that he is playing when he practices, to also wanting to go play and make his own songs as well now. Hafdis has started him kindly, patiently and strongly with this needed foundation of music and base of piano. These lessons have worked out beyond my expectations seeing that they were all over FaceTime I wasn’t sure how they would go, and for this foundational gift of music from her, we will forever be greatful to Hafdis. His brain is engaged and happy, and there is music in the house daily now. He is learning so much and progressing weekly. Thank you so much Hafdis!

She is a natural at having fun with the student while helping them progress rapidly. During my time with her my confidence has grown. I’m so glad to be taking lessons with her.

I have only praises for Hafdis as a music teacher and a person. She patiently taught 4 of us, my 3 young children and me (Mom). The children all took piano lessons and my daughter and I took flute lessons. Hafdis is a talented teacher and musician. You will not regret picking her for yourself or for your child. Unfortunately, we had to stop the lessons when the children got busy with Scouting and school activities.

I enjoyed the lessons because the teacher made the learning fun. I learned a lot and am now able to play my instrument for church services.
