Our teachers love helping people discover their creative side! Music is for everyone, and anyone can learn how to sing or play an instrument. What we enjoy the most is when our students feel confident and accompished in their abilities.
I had always had a passion for teaching. I had my first two students when I was a high school senior. Then I entered college and became more of a performer, but always had an urge to teach. After graduating and moving to St Louis for my Masters, I opened up a voice/piano studio and fell in love with teaching one on one lessons. My favorite part is figuring out how to make music and theory fun and understandable to all my students.

First, we set up a phone conversation to explain our music lessons program and to get some basica information. Then, if it looks like a good fit, we will schedule a one hour intro lesson. Here we will give a 20-30 minute mini lesson, then discuss our packages and opportunities. We will discuss the goals of the student and how frequent we want to meet.
I have worked with kids as young as 5 for piano lessons and adults as old as 80 for voice and piano lessons. I always tailor my lessons to the students interests, knowing that a classical approach can be adapted to all styles and genres. I have had a barbershop singer, a rock singer, opera singer, jazz pianist, classical pianist, singer-song writer, musical theater singer, etc. If I am not familiar with your interest, I take the time to learn about it, so we may function better together!
We recommend taking at least 12 lessons with a teacher. A student/teacher relationship is very important. If there is no rapport between the student and teacher, lessons will not be as productive or worse! Take the time to listen to the teacher and see if it will be a good fit. Not everyone will fit together, and that is ok. Us teachers know this and will recommend a change if needed. Just make sure you give it a real, honest attempt before moving on.

What style of music do you want to perform and study? Who are your favorite bands, singers, pianists, etc? What is your intent with music? Is it a hobby, or do you want to make it a profession? Which instrument or instruments are you interested in learning?

Tom is a great, flexible and inspiring teacher. Not only does he bring his knowledge but he brings his love and performance experience to the students. He adjusts the lessons to fit the needs of your children, whether it’s more composition ideas or adding some vocal instruction to the piano lesson. We loved having him teach our kids!

Our packages of lessons are 12, 24, and 36 lessons. Payment plans are available, but you can always purchase in bulk if you chose.
We have different prices for lessons in your home (starting at $240/monthly) or lessons in my studio/online (starting at $192 monthly). Give us a call and we can talk about what package would work best for you!
