About Seth
I like to make sure my students are learning what they want to learn to play and also teaching them the skills how to read music and play scales/other musical things. I want the students to be interested in the lessons so I like to let them choose what they would like to learn how to play so they can show off what they learned to others
I love to see progress in my students. Seeing that they practice often to grow as a pianist. It makes me happy when they are constantly practicing to get better at their piano skills
As I was in college studing for music education. I wanted to practice giving lessons to people as well. I didn't have much students but I had family who was willing to learn somethings. I've taught some things to my nephew and my sister. Both have been grateful to learn even a little thing on the piano so they can show people. i was also a student teacher assistant at an elementary school. So i've taught music to students in grades 1-5
Went to school for music education, graduated from Nyack College was part of the school of music. Played piano for churches, started taking lessons when I was 9 years old and fell in love with this instrument.

I start off with the basics. Teaching them how to read the notes on a sheet of music, showing them where each note is on the piano, how to play the scales, how to count each beat, how to remember where each note is.
I've mainly worked with beginners. It's easy to show them something new and watch them progress as time goes on.
Make sure you are willing to take this step and want to learn. You have to be interested 100 percent in this. Make it worth it and always take time to practice
