About Paul

I've been a photographer since my Senior year in High School. I've made my living with my camera for 30 years. Yes, I've worked in different professions which have served me well in my photography career.

I broke my neck when I was 21 years old and at the very least should be a quadriplegic. This experience has made me look at the world in a different light. The glass is always full, it's always sunny, and EVERYTHING is possible.

I live my life with passion and love to share with others my knowledge of photography. I also love to share my passion on how to build a business, and how to manage your mind when life challenges you.

I believe that my life experiences can help you not only become a great photographer. But, how to have success in life as well.

I pinch myself every day because I am creating art and earning a living with my camera. Anything you point your camera towards can be created into a work of art.

I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to live my life with passion and it's because of picking up a camera my senior year of high school.

I didn't even plan on teaching.  It just happened and I didn't even know that it was happening.  Until one of my friends asked me how much I charge for what I was sharing with them.

The thought of teaching wasn't something I pursued.  However, I've always loved sharing my knowledge with others.  Especially when I knew it was going to benefit them in a positive way.

One of my students ended up being my assistant.  She then went on to a photography school where she ended up winning a scholarship and then ended up with being the top photographer in her class.

I have been a working photographer for 30 years.  Yes, I've worked in different industries which have severed my photography career.  I've been operating a full-time photography business from my home for over 12 years.  When you work for yourself for this many years, you learn more than just photography.  You learn about the business of photography, you learn about people and what makes them tick, you learn (this is a must) about the marketing of your photography.

I am also a Certified Coach for business owners.  I've taken people who are afraid of their own shadow and become a beacon of light for others.  I teach people how to attract people to them when most are chasing people away.

With all of that said, my passion for photography and helping others runs deep.  This is not just what I do, it's who I am.

Typically we meet either face to face or through a webcast depending on the location my students.

It's more important to me of the "why" a student wants to learn about a particular subject.  I like to dive deep into what is my student's motivation for pursuing photography.

When I get to know what my students on a deeper level.  Then it's easier to share based on their motivation, not mine.

I've worked with so many different types of people.  Anyone who has had a passion for photography and helping others is who I love working with.

In Real Estate, you hear the expression, "Location, Location, Location."

When hiring a teacher, in any area of expertise, you should be looking for "Passion, Passion, Passion!"

I volunteered my time for an event to help raise money.  The event was to send children with Cancer to Summer Camp.  Being able to donate my time for this event made my heart swell and brought many tears to my eyes.  When the donors found out I was giving my time, they all made me feel so good about what I was doing.

At the end of the day, when we give, we get.  However, it's amazing how when you help others you are helping yourself.  As long as you are doing it to give of yourself.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The big question students should be asking themselves is, "What is it about this skill I am going to learn is motivating me to pursue this knowledge?"

I don't have any standard pricing as it depends on what and how the student wants to proceed. Mostly based on time, as time is our most valuable asset.

I do know this, I like to under promise and over deliver.  This tends to happen because I am so passionate about what I do.  Most of the time, my students can't write fast enough to take all the information I am sharing.

Generally, I do not watch the clock like the psychiatrist :)

Rates are $75 an hour.  However, the more time you book the better your rate will be.
