About Chris
I am a fine-art nature photographer, instructor, and writer working primarily in the landscape of my home, the woods, lakes, mountains, and streams of New York State. My work has appeared in several magazines including Popular Photography, Shutterbug, Adirondack Life, Life in the Finger Lakes, and New York State Conservationist, among others.
My interest in photographing landscapes is derived mainly from my love of the natural world. In photography I strive to make images that are a reflection of my sensibilities and how I see the world. My goal is to make images that are not a literal documentation of place, but rather a creative expression of his response to that place.
I have been practicing photography for almost 25 years and teaching it since 2007. I lead workshops as a staff instructor for the Adirondack Photography Institute. I also teach classes through Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY and the Thousand Islands Arts Center in Clayton, NY.

Through email or over I phone I discuss with the prospective student what it is they wish to learn. I offer full and half day custom workshops for those that wish to explore a particular aspect of photography in a one-on-one learning environment. These workshops may cover everything from an introduction to photography, how to use your camera, landscape photography, astrophotography, macrophotography, processing your images, or anything else you can imagine. A full-day workshop is 8 hours and a half-day workshop is 4 hours. The date and day of the week as well as location is up to the student. If there is more than one person the cost will be split among participants.
