About Anastasia

Initial/first lesson at no cost!
With a caring and empowering approach to music education, Anastasia teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, voice, trumpet, French horn, music theory, and conducting.
Achievement of your music education goals is my highest priority! Whether you are a beginning student or a seasoned performer, your lessons will be adapted to your unique requests, learning style, and needs. First lesson is at no cost so we can get to know each other without monetary pressure.
As an avid performer in addition to a therapist and educator, Anastasia deeply understands the profoundly positive impact that music has on development, memory, academic skills, mood, and life in general. She is committed to teaching in a style that is tailored to each student's specific strengths and needs. Anastasia enjoys making the world of music education fun and engaging while also meaningful for the students who are interested in pursuing competitve circuits, college applications, and overall futures as professional musicians.
Anastasia began teaching at age 15 when she was asked to be a camp counselor for a middle school band camp. In addition to preparing activities and events for the campers, she also co-led French horn sectionals and provided individual support to the young musicians. One musician in particular took to Anastasia's teaching style and requested individual lessons to continue when the school year started. Anastasia was then asked to assist one of the middle school band directors 1-2 times per week and provide individual lessons during class time rotating with several different brass students. After she graduated high school, Anastasia became the district French horn instructor for 4 different school districts in North Texas. Upon moving to Colorado for graduate school, she maintained a successful music studio while also serving as the Assistant Marching Band Director for Windsor High School.
Anastasia completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music in 2013 from Texas Woman's University. During this degree, her emphasis was composition, performance, and education and studied under impressive instructors such as Dr. Richard Shuster, Dr. Joni Jensen, and Dr. Angela Winter. She went on to complete her Master of Music with an emphasis in Neurologic Music Therapy from Colorado State University in 2016. Most recently, Anastasia completed her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University this year of 2020.

All first sessions or lessons at Creative Remedies, LLC are at no cost. This is so both the instructor and the student/family get to know each other without blind financial obligation. At the time of the first session or lesson, Anastasia will interview the student and that family about their music education goals and preferences as well as begin some initial foundational instruction.
Anastasia has worked with students of all ages and abilities. One of the most unique aspects of her teaching style is Anastasia's background in Neurologic Music Therapy. This enables her to understand Neurodiverse students, students who need individualized supports, and students who are seeking music lessons to benefit their quality of life and/or health concerns in addition to the goal of learning music. She refers to these services as adaptive or therapeutic lessons. Anastasia welcomes students with special needs as well as traditional music students across all ages and developmental levels.
Anastasia believes that helping a musician grow is also about helping the person grow. Differing learning styles, preferences, and development should be considered when teaching music. It is important to learn from an instructor who has the student's wellbeing in mind as well as the music.
Due to COVID-19, many events have been cancelled or transferred online. Prior to the pandemic, Anastasia enjoyed preparing quarterly music studio recitals and studio-wide contests to motivate students to practice. Outside of teaching, Anastasia performs regularly in the Denver metro area such as the People's Fair, Broomfield Summer Concert Series, and Swallow Hill Music.

After the first lesson, the rate breakdowns are as follows:

While this is the standard rates for lessons through Creative Remedies, LLC, Anastasia recognizes that these are uncertain times which impacts the accessibility to education and resources. Because of this, she is offering lessons on a sliding scale based on need and COVID-19 impact. Anastasia prioritizes getting music into the homes of children and families which is exceptionally important during a difficult time such as now.
