About Cynphany
Greetings! I am a 2nd Grade Teacher in the District of Columbia and I I absolutely love working with kids. I love teaching them, learning with them and getting to know their families.
My mission is to continue making an impact, not only academically, but holistically as we enter into new learning spaces.
Thank you in advance for your time, support and consideration.
I have always had a love and appreciation for teaching, as my father and grandmother have been life-long teaching.
In 2017 I began the Capital Teaching Residency, a 3-year teaching leadership program that really catapulted my love for working with kids, specifically and helping them enjoy school, not just endure it.
I have been working with kids, since 12 and I have been a certified teacher for 3 years. Next school year will be my 4th year. Additionally, the skills that I have acquired over the years have allowed me to be more intentional in my approach to individually working with students and their families.

We spend the first meeting getting to know each other, seeing what interests them and what does not. I'll give some practice assessments to see where we should begin, then create a schedule for learning, from there.
All types of students from K-12th, special education to general education and all types of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Do not say yes to work or working with them, if you're uncomfortable.
Attending protest for Black People who have suffered from police violence has been very important and impactful for me. I know the decisions and outcomes of today will have a forever, long lasting impact on the students we teach.
