About Hector
I adopt the First Principles ideology created by Aristotle. What this means for the student I tutor is that I have a determined and focused mission, digging to the root of the problem. I believe that my passion, understanding, and personable demeanor make me a great tutor.
Like a painting has many strokes which come together to form an image, a problem can have many steps from which a solution is formed. Math is art.
I recently graduated from Drexel University with a BS in Business & Engineering. My degree had very extensive maths, physics, and chemistry. I have experience with:
Calculus
Statistics
Linear Algebra & Algebra
Chemistry
Finance
Corporate Finance/Financial & Managerial Accounting
Thermodynamics
Fluid Dynamics
Technical Communication/Public Speaking
As for the matter of tutoring, I've been tutoring those around me in my life for a while now and I have reviewed methodologies, techniques, and principles that go into the makings of a tutor through Elite Tutor Services.

First session includes going over the cirriculum and probing the stuent's knowledge and learning more about the student's learning style. As this process is for my benefit as well as the student's, this sort of "consultation" is not charged. I want to understand the student as much as I can to help in the most effective and efficient way possible. My mission starts with helping catch a student up to speed, and then shifts to helping the student foster a sense of confidence in their ability to learn and teach themselves.
I've worked with students ranging from collegiate to primary shcool.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Regarding academic needs specifically, I encourage students to look through the source material carefully and fully. I also recommend looking at youtube videos or websites available that teach the subject matter at hand. If these three methods don't work, I would bring it up to the teacher.

Hector was really good at explaining the basics and the foundations of chemistry when I was struggling with converting units of the metric system. He went over the problems step by step and came up with different examples and methods so that I could understand. He was patient when I wanted to give up. I passed my exam with an A.
I was in dire need of help for my calculus 2 class. My professor was not a great teacher and never explained any of the concepts or materials well. Hector was very patient and made sure I understood every step in solving my homework questions that I had no idea how to solve. He explained all the material to me and kept it simple but taught it very well. Without his help, I would have failed my calculus 2 course but with his determination to help me throughout the whole semester, I received an A in the class. He sure knows his math! Not only is he knowledgable on various math topics but he was easy to talk to and a pretty funny guy. I never felt shy to ask him when I didn't understand a topic. He's very caring and you can tell that he actually wants to help.
