About Tyler
I'm Tyler! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hofstra University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics. My students start seeing improvements immediately because I don't just teach them how to solve problems, instead I teach them how to think! I have tutored over 750 students at Hofstra's Tutoring Center in over 12 different math courses throughout college. I have privately tutored as well, with a focus on all HS/College Math & Science classes and the SAT exam.
In addition to seeing a student's score improve, seeing their confidence increase in tackling challenging subjects is the most fulfilling part of tutoring. I'm extremely passionate about all my subjects and I enjoy finding the simplest way to present the material. I also thoroughly enjoy learning from my students because it allows me to modify my technique to best present it to assist the students suceeed.
I am always looking to assist students in a way that works best for them. In addition to serving as a student tutor, I served as a teaching assistant for multiple years during college. Lecturing always felt similar to tutoring, however my teaching style had to be adapted to explain concepts to a room full of students all at once. One of the most important components of giving a successful lecture was always maintaining a tempo that students of all capabilities could follow and then adjusting the approach whenever I detected it was not working for a student. This experience has improved how I teach and I now feel comfortable identifying the ideal approach for each individual student. I am always open to suggestions from students and encourage any and all questions during tutoring sessions.

Perfect! Tyler was an enormous help to my daughter with Calculus 2 and Multivariable Calculus. He was thorough, dedicated, and also very responsive and flexible. Great communication and easy to work with. We will definitely use him again in the future.

Perfect! If you're reading this, do yourself a favor and hire this guy for tutoring because he is THE BEST! I sought out help from Tyler after feeling lost in the middle of condensed college level Calculus 1 and 2 summer courses. Not only did I immediately see an improvement in my performance, but I also found that Tyler's way of teaching made me actually understand the content which is so valuable. Worked with him to learn material for an upcoming Calc II class. He explained each topic super thoroughly & gave me so much practice and so many tips. Absolutely fantastic if you're looking to do Calculus.
He took his time and explained everything to my son in a way that was organized and simple. We're happy so far with his improvement in Algebra and excited for more sessions.

The hardest problem for me in math, Python, and SQL is knowing what they want to solve for and setting up a plan for achieving it. Tyler goes step by step in problem solving as an outstanding Math mentor. Then plugging in the numbers is routine.
