About Erik
Both of my parents are teachers. My mother has taught 7th-8th grade mathematics for 25+ years. My father has taught a range of subjects over 25+ years, including high school physics, environmental science, and general sciences, and was the accelerated learning program coordinator for 10+ years.
I have always been inclined to help my peers with their studies. I worked as an advisor in afterschool enrichment programs throughout high school. I began formal substitute teaching during my breaks while in college, and have continued part-time as a personal tutor since then.
I have over 5 years of experience as a substitute teacher for grade levels K-12 and as a personal tutor for ages 10-22.
I graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018 with a BSc in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering.
I graduated from Imperial College London in 2019 with an MSc in Biomedical Engineering and a focus in Biomaterials.

I prefer an informal work environment - it's okay to have fun while you learn! The first lesson will involve getting to know the student and their learning style. I then work with the student to find a teaching style that would most benefit them. Hopefully we can find a way to make the lessons engaging and enjoyable!
I have worked with all types of students, from special needs to accelerated learning. I am happy to adapt my teaching style to the student's preference for learning!
