About Anna
Energetic math tutoring to help students achieve their goals. I enjoy utilizing a more creative approach to tutoring because I realize everyone learns differently. Student-led tutoring allows the student to present what ideas they have and allows tutor and student to build off of those ideas in a way that the student can understand and utilize later in life. I have experience through Multi-Variable Calculus, and can effectively tutor even AP classes such as AP Calculus AB/BC.
I have been peer tutoring for 6 years, helping students in all subjects, especially those who are not English speakers and just getting used to the American education system. In high school, I was a peer math tutor for Algebra I/II, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus, as well as a Spanish tutor for an organization called the Spanish Honor Society. I held the position of Chair of Tutoring and organized peer tutoring, tutored students myself, and created activities for students with developmental disabilities. I hold an Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy for Spanish and English, and have also maintained an A average for all math classes throughout high school. I also earned a 5 on the AP Calculus BC test in 2019.

I will introduce myself to the student and/or parent and try to learn about the student's specific learning style. I would love to know about any pereceived strengths, not just academically, so we can build off of that in tutoring. I also take a look at any teacher comments on recent work to better evaluate the area where the student needs work.
