About Michael
I have taught mathematics professionally for over 5 years and I am currently pursuing my P.H.D in mathematics. I have a great passion for the subject and love sharing my knowledge with others. I am a mathematician who is a natural teacher and I can connect with students of all ages and backgrounds. I bring joy to the tutoring sessions and look to build a strong relationship with each student. Many students are reluctant to take part in tutoring sessions and only end up doing so at the behest of their parents or someone else, but after working with many students, I have found that they often end up looking forward to our sessions and truly enjoy learning.
I can adapt to many learning styles, and over my teaching career I have worked with all types of students with varying educational needs. I have worked with students on different levels of the Autism spectrum, with ADHD, behaviour problems, and just students that are very self-concious about their mathematics capability.
I have professionally taught Pre-Algebra and IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, HL and SL, and every course in between. I have also prepared dozens of students for SAT and ACT and helped them acheive their target scors. With this experience I can quickly identify a students strengths and weaknesses and push already strong students to new heights, and build confidence and ability with students that possesses weaker skills.
I enjoy the experience of teaching students new things and watching their confidence grow. Working with a variety of students and subjects keeps my work very fun and engaging and there is never a dull moment. Every session goes by so fast because we cover so much and I try to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Mike helped my daughter Annabel prepare for the SAT. She took the SAT once before and got a score of 1100 but her goal was to get a 1200 so we went to this website and luckily we found Mike! He helped her for two months and the next time she took it she got a 1250. We were very happy and we highly recommend Mike!
Mike was amazing to work with these past few months. My daughter is a strong student but when we transitioned from private to public school, the curriculum was much different. Because of this there were gaps in her math skills. Mike works patiently with her and she looks forward to meeting with him as she can see the improvement in class after each meeting. Seeing her grade go up as she works with Mike is wonderful and we are very happy clients. Highly recommend.
Mike is wonderful! He has been such a big help to my daughter with her Algebra 2 class! My child has struggled with math all through middle and high school and we were worried she would not be able to pass Algebra 2 and have to take it again in the summer. She ended up passing the class with a B and we were thrilled. Now he is helping her with Precalculus and she is doing so well that they are working a little bit ahead of her classmates. Couldn't recommend enough!
Mike is an absolute life saver! He was able to help with areas in calculus I couldn't seem to get clarified anywhere else. Mike also teaches in a manner that makes it easy to understand and retain the material, often making it seem simple. Thanks to Mike I finished Calculus with an A!!! Would highly recommend!!!
