About Skylar
Hello! I'm Skylar Jade! I'm currently a freshman at Indiana University Bloomington, majoring in psychology and fashion design! I am new to tutoring. However, I am confident in my ability to help elementary up to early high school students succeed in their academics, while creating a fun encouraging environment that allows them to be excited about academics and confident in their abilities.
I was inspired to get into tutoring, because I am looking for a job I can do remotely while I am in college! With my drive to succeed, patience, and knowledge of various subjects, I think that tutoring would be a job very well fit for me!
I graduated high school with a 3.9 unweighted GPA, and have lots of experience working with children! I worked at an art studio previously, where I'd host children's parties. In addition, I've done my fair share of baby sitting! I have also helped many friends get past tough assignments, and even taught my cousin how to write his name when he was 4 years old.

I want to create a space that makes the student feel confident in their abilities. I want to cater to the different strengths of every student, while working on their weaknesses. I don't ever want a student to walk out of a session with me feeling like they are anything less than a genius!
I have mainly have experience working with younger children, up to about age 12. However, I'm confident that I can help students of all ages, and my own personal performance in school supports that.

Details
I only charge $12 per hour for a standard tutoring session with elementary and middle school students! Due to the increased difficulty of coursework, I charge $20 per hour for a standard session of high school tutoring.
I do not help with SAT prep. I do, however, offer a college essay revision for a flat fee of $30, which will include detailed revisions and commentary on the student’s work.
If your request is outside of these options, feel free to reach out for a quote. I should respond within 48 hours.
As I am looking for experience right now, I am open to reasonable negotiation when it comes to my pricing.
