About Thomas
My service stands out in that you are not just hiring someone to help you do exercises and hold you accountable. I will not leave you on your own and merely assign work to you with no real sense of direction. I want to understand how you think, why you are getting questions wrong, and help to develop a plan to improve. In summary, many tutors and courses give you lots of practice for the test, while I want to help you truly understand the work.
I genuinely enjoy meeting people and understanding them and helping them grow. I also love analysing each persons thinking, understanding, and method of learning in order to create something that works for them. The combination of helping someone, getting to know them, and forming a plan for their success makes this a very fulfilling job for me. I am also currently in law school and being alive costs money which this provides me. Tutoring provides me a job I really enjoy, that is based on something I am very good at, which also allows me to pay the bills while I am in school.
I am currently a law school student, and scored over the 99th percentile on the LSAT twice. I will validate this with proof upon request. Furthermore, I spent much less time than many of my peers to a much greater effect. I spent less than 50 hours preparing for this test and improved quite quickly which I attribute to learning how to think about the test, rather than blindly running through drills and tests. I have also helped multiple students to succeed on the LSAT, starting first with friends who improved their scores by 5-10 points, then eventually to clients who generally shared similar results. I am still relatively new to tutoring, which I think is of benefit to my clients as I tend to be very flexible with hours, and my ciricullum. Being flexible allows me to adapt to each new student, rather than running the same drills and the same boring lessons that you would get from a normal prepclass or tutor.

That completely depends on the type of student that is hiring me. If the student is completely inexperienced with the LSAT, I will guide them through the initial basic objectives of each section, what the test is asking you to do, and how best to improve on each skill that is being tested. I will then have them take a timed test to assess their baseline score without any prep, and to get a sense of what the issue in my student's pattern of thinking is that leads to the faulty answer.
In students that have an idea of how the LSAT works already and have some habits already, it is much more effective to look at what habits they need to improve on (I.e. should read what the question is asking before the prompt in reasoning) as well as reviewing practice tests and finding what the undelying flaw in their thinking is that leads to wrong answers. I think that this is the key to improving your score.

Really a fantastic tutor and kind person. I had tried prep courses and other online resources which helped a little, but Tom definitely helped in a different way. Details
I generally charge 50 dollars an hour for online tutoring via zoom, skype, or other preferred method. This is to compensate for the fact that I will be reveiwing your materials and answers outside of our meeting time in order to understand how to help you understand the test better and improve. This price is generally not up to negotiation, but if you are a broke college student (or person) and just want general advice and free resources you can use then I am happy to help free of charge.
