About Kimberly
I have been tutoring students since I was in Junior Highschool and my peers struggled to understand our eighth-grade Algebra assignments. This love of sharing knowledge has been ingrained in me ever since. Most recently, my endeavors have gone to college students working to learn coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Being able to take a few blank computer note-pages and turn them into a fully functional website is an empowering achievement that should be accessible to everyone who desires the skill. If this is your goal, I look forward to helping you make it happen.
Nothing makes me happier than the lightbulb moment. You know the one, where all of the explanations and practice finally clicks into place. I put in my very best efforts to help students achieve that moment of clarity when everything at last makes sense.
That moment, where it truly hit me that I wanted to teach others, was in a College Algebra course I took my first year of college. I had already taken Calculus in high school, but I had to take this course anyway for a specific readiness program I was assigned to. In that class were students who had not taken a math course in years and those who had struggled with math when they were in high school.
While I was there, I spent the majority of my time tutoring my peers and helping them grasp the topics at hand. As each one reached a new understanding, I found an immense joy in helping them. I knew then that this was my calling. I made it my goal to continue teaching others from that moment onward.

Learning coding languages requires a fundamental understanding of what each piece of code does. It is easy to copy and paste code from the internet and hope it works for you, but it is much harder to be able to write that code from scratch.
To begin with a new student, I will ask them to bring me a piece of code that they do not understand. We will then break it down into digestible pieces to gain an understanding of what the code is supposed to do and why it works. Once these core concepts are understood, it will become easier to troubleshoot problem coding and debug issues that come up.
At the end of the day, a piece of code is only useful if the web designer understands how to use it and how to correct it when it stops working. This will be our ultimate goal.
Most often, I work with college students taking beginner web design and development courses. I can also work with high school students who are looking to learn how to build websites whether required for a class or for their own personal achievement.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It helps to have a question prepared beforehand. Coding languages can be used to achieve an immense amount of tasks. Consider which language you are struggling with (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and what exactly you are trying to achieve with the code. If you can come with piece of code you have already attempted to make work, it is easier to focus in and help you troubleshoot your problem areas.
