About Akelei
Hi, my name is Akelei and I am a Howard University student. I started tutoring because it's important that students not only learn what they need for their cirriculum, but also learn how their course helps them in the real world. An understanding in American history/Social Studies makes it easier to adapt in the real world. You learn why the country is the way it is, and you learn events that don't need to be repeated. I was an all A student in school. And I can help your students with that as well!!
I am a political science major and psychology minor. I've taken many AP courses including US History, Civics & Economics, and US Politics. I used to tutor elementary students in ELA.

First I get the student comfortable and relaxed because that's important when completing school work. I keep them informed and focused the whole session. I first assess my student to see where they are at, and observe them to see if I can find anything about them that will help me help them. My students will have fun, learn and take in skills they can use on their own!
