As someone who personally grew up taking piano lessons, I have experienced some good and bad teachers. When my son showed interest in learning the piano, we started him with Tyler and couldn’t be happier with our experience. On the technical side of the lessons, Tyler’s choice of curriculum builds naturally and gives his students a strong foundation to build upon. Although I feel that curriculum is important, I believe that the environment created within the lesson has even more influence in a student’s positive experience and long-term learning. Tyler’s personable teaching style allowed my son to be challenged while also in an incredible positive and encouraging environment. My two boys started piano lessons with Tyler when they were 6 & 7. Now 10 & 13, they continue to thrive in the area of music, with a number of instruments . Our 13 year old now currently plays in our church worship band in a regular rotation, and has been doing so since he was 11. Tyler took time to look at each of our boys’ personalities, and tailored the music selection for learning to each of them. That kept them engaged and interested in growing.
