I start with the basics. I go over the entire instrument and what every part does and why they are important or how they work together. I teach them how to clean and care for the instrument as well as maintain good working order. Once they have a good grasp on the workings of the instrument, I start learning about their interest to cultivate a lesson plan that works for each individual.
