About Danny
Hello! I'm a preforming and recording semi-professional guitar player based in Seattle, mainly focused on pop/rock, folk/country/american music. I am currently accepting beginner through intermediate level students.
The scope and style of the curriculum really depends upon the student's personal goals. If you're just interested in strumming some some chords and singing with friends, that is totally fine!!!
If you want to dive into music theory and develop a deeper understanding of chords, scales, counterpoint, improvisations, and composition, we can do that too!!!
Nowadays, there are vast learning tools and resources available for free or almost free online. Online resources make a great supplement to a traditional music education and we may make heavy use of them in lessons with the goal of students being able to get productive independent study done outside of class.
I love music and learning about music!!! Music is a fundamentally conversational and collaborative enterprise, whether playing with friends or preforming before an audience.
Helping people to understand musical concepts and develop their own technique and artistic voice is as rewarding for me as preforming or working on my own craft or compositions. These things are all just extensions of the same conversation!!!
Furthermore, playing a musical instrument, and working to develop the physical and mental tools it takes to do so, is one of the best things a person can do for themselves in life. Music is how many people form a sense of identity, confidence and accomplishment, and being able to share that with others is a real joy!!!
