About Brandyn

My goal is for students to walk away from each lesson with something they can immediately show off to the world. Unlike traditional lessons that focus heavily on repetitive scales and arpeggios, I emphasize real-world application and creativity.
In my experience, this approach keeps students motivated, makes practice enjoyable, and leads to faster improvement.
I genuinely love watching my students grow—seeing their excitement as they develop new skills and truly understand the concepts is what makes teaching so rewarding.
I started teaching around the age of 18, when a family from my church asked if I could give their kids music lessons. The kids loved it, and word quickly spread. Before long, I had more students through referrals—and I’ve been passionate about teaching ever since.
I’ve been teaching guitar and bass since 2014. I hold a B.S. in Digital Media with an emphasis in Digital Audio Production from Utah Valley University. Based in Irvine, CA, I run a small studio and work with clients from around the world.

1. Assess Musical Skill Level
We’ll start by establishing a baseline of where the student is musically. Based on their personal goals, I’ll tailor each lesson to fit their specific needs and aspirations.
2. Learn Through Songs & Theory
Depending on the student’s preferred genre and objectives, I’ll transcribe a song of their choice and break down its structure. Along the way, I’ll explain the foundational music theory behind it and show how to apply those concepts directly to their instrument.
3. Develop Effective Practice Habits
I’ll help students build self-motivation when practicing by teaching effective practice techniques. I’ll also recommend gear that suits their learning style and enhances their progress.

Put in the time, practice is everything. Your brain is like a muscle: the more you work it, the faster you’ll build the muscle memory needed to play almost anything with ease.
