About Zachary
As a teacher who plays guitar, bass, piano and drums and songwriting, my approach is more well rounded than traditional instruction. A student may struggle on guitar only find that they are more suited to the drums or bass.
I love sharing music. Whether I'm playing my own songs, or playing with other people, teaching kids, or just talking about it. Music is a never ending source of fun and learning.
A friend of mine went on tour and recommended me to a bunch of students. Years later, I went on tour and gave them back!
I've been a working musician for 20 years. And more importantly, I love it. And, I love sharing music with people.

Find out what the student wants to achieve and help them achieve it. It's pretty simple. Make them feel comfortable and confident. Reassure them when things get hard and congratulate them when there's improvement. Most of all, try to take something that looks insurmountable and show them the steps to overcoming it.

Make sure you feel comfortable. Try to have fun.
I love singing in the living room with my kids. That's the best kind of teaching.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
That depends on the level of the student, but communication is a big part of the student/teacher relationship. I always try to make communication open. If a student feels like they can't express themselves, they are going to have a tough time learning.
