About Seth
I cut out the all the nonsense and unnecessary confusion of language learning, sticking to only the essential elements of grammar needed to get you to the point of comprehension and conversational competency.
I consider myself a scholar through and through, and it is my firm conviction that in order to master a subject, one must be able to teach it. Indeed, we are never finished learning; I teach as much for my own scholastic journey as I do for my students.
During my first semester at UNCA, the German department was in need of a new German tutor. After speaking with a couple of my professors, I was recommended to the academic director, with whom I had my interview. I was hired and have been tutoring ever since.
I currently study at UNCA, majoring in French and German. I have been the German tutor at UNCA for the past two semesters, giving me substantial experience in this field. I also have experience tutoring privately, working 1 on 1 with students.

First, I take an assessment of the students capacity with the language. Then I inquire into other education experiences in order to determine the way in which the student best learns. By the end of the first session I draw up a loose plan of how the student can most effectively approach learning the new language.
I have worked with various types of students with many different styles of learning. Ineed, everything such as students with special needs (ADHD), to adult students who've had language learning experience and were ready to hit the ground sprinting. Everyone has their own method, and pace, of learning that suits them best, and I strive find that so that I may adapt my teaching style to fit their needs.
Find someone who is patient, intuitive, and compassionate. Don't waste your time with a teacher who is unwilling to adapt to your particular needs.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ponder and pinpoint what it is they really want out of learning. Is it to improve your grades? Is it simply to clear up a few tricky points of a subject that have always been confusing to you? Do you want to become fluent/ conversational in a foreign language? Or do you have a deeply rooted, burning passion to explore a particular subject to it's depths on your journey to become a master of it?
Whatever the answer to any of those questions are, I will use all available knowledge and resources to aid you in attaining your goals.
