About Nancy
Hi there! Introduction and Experience: My Name is Nancy and I am a 19 year old student. Surprisingly for someone of my age I have a lot of experience in this field. After finishing my A Levels and achieving A*s in English Literature, Biology and History; I am spending my gap year working as the resident tutor and humanities assistant in a boarding (where I am able to deliver lessons to classes of 30 students) school as well as tutoring at all levels. -I have lots of experience working with students and at present I am working with a year 8 students to help them pass their English Common entrance exams. I also have experience branching out into other subject areas especially science from primary level, right through to A Level. - I also have multiple students who I work with in a precision teaching programme (working on reading and spellings) 5 days a week. Services I offer: - English Literature and Language Tutoring (Primary, GCSE, A Level) - Oxbridge Preparation (ELAT entrance exam, Interview Prep, Personal statement) - Creative Writing Workshops, tutoring and proof reading - Academic and Essay Writing - Biology (primary - A Level) Creative Writing: Outside of teaching I work on the UNESCO Youth Advisory board for Creative Arts for the East Midlands sector with a focus on creative writing. My work includes working with professional writers to deliver workshops in poetry, prose and comedy to young people across the East Midlands. I have recently worked in the Nottingham Academy with a group of 25 young students (aged between 14-18) nurturing their talent for writing and providing opportunities in the form of events, workshops and competitions to take it further. I also achieved my Trinity College Arts awards in Creative Writing and Poetry. Academic Writing: My passion for the written word lends itself nicely to my ability write essays and statements with fluency and a well-formed academic tone. I can help word academic essays, EPQ's, coursework, personal statements (including oxbridge personal statements) and professional documents among many other things. This also includes proof-reading and checking for grammar if needs be. I work with Nancy as a resident boarding assistant in a prep and boarding school and her skill level and experience when working with students is impressive. She takes a calm and clear approach and is always organised and prepared. Recently she has successfully tutored students in the 11+ exams which was very effective!
Nancy has a very good widespread knowledge of many areas regarding English including various classics and poetry, and her analysis is to such a high level. She has been an amazing tutor.
