About Steve
Steve Hollahanbegan trumpet at age 11 years. By 15, Steve received a music scholarship from Memphis State University. In California, Steve attended Santa Monica College: University of California, Santa Barbara, B.A. Honors: University of California, Riverside, M.A. Music, trumpet emphasis. Studying with Joseph Valenti, Glenn Lutz, and J. Frank Elsass.
Steve has dedicated his teaching career to imparting the teaching and performance wisdom that his teachers and colleagues gave him over his career. Steve has performed in orchestras, stage bands, early music ensembles, and brass groups overe many years. His teaching is not centered on one style, but encompasses the many styles which the trumpet can display.
