About Jessica
I’ve had many years of experience in English tutoring. Most recently, I was an Online English Teacher (teaching 3-13 year olds) Before this, I was an EAL tutor with (3+ years of experience in a range of areas within the mainstream UK education sector). From volunteering as a teaching assistant, to working as an English teacher in Italy, I have worked with ages 3-15 years old, and so, I can easily adapt lessons to suit individual needs. I am qualified to Postgrad Diploma level in Education, EAL and TESOL. In my spare time, I love to read!

I believe engaging in meaningful communication activities and language techniques will ensure the student is not only invested in their learning journey, but gains confidence through conversation. Using games and speaking activities as a lesson tool will enhance the retention of information, and create a positive, supportive teaching environment. Lesson are structured according to student need. Some examples: A student brings a piece of work to a session—homework, work tasks or any extracurricular projects—then we can discuss and complete activities based around this piece of work. Or, a student would like to gain conversational skills, focusing on grammar. Lessons will therefore include many speaking activities, with a focus on accuracy. If a student requires tutoring for specific use of language (EAP, IELTS or similar) we can develop a plan to help the student blossom in that area—always taking into consideration the student's learning styles and current language ability. I would ask, if a student has a specific purpose for wanting these lessons, please let me know prior to the session. It’ll allow me planning time to produce a comprehensive plan for them.

Jess works well in one-to-one and group online sessions. She is friendly and is always there to help where she can. She’s a good teacher who is passionate about her subject and about helping others.
