About Elias
PHWW was born out of a love for the written word amongst a group of friends at the University of Virginia. Whether writing an academic paper, a college admissions essay, fiction, poetry, or prose, PHWW believes that there must be a gift of self, a piece of the heart left inside.
Our tutors are shepherds, not drill instructors, as we understand that inside every soul lurks a writer with their own voice.
Out of necessity and responsibility, being the 3rd of eight children, I began my teaching career by helping younger siblings with schoolwork. Developing a love of teaching at a young age has propelled me into what I imagine will be a lifelong career in education.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, I am currently enrolled in a graduate program at NUI Galway in Literature. I have taught in various capacities for the past ten years and have lived throughout the United States, from the South, to New England, to the Rocky Mountains.

Before taking a gander at a paper, it is important to first understand a little bit about the pupil and the prompt. A brief introductory phone call will be held to get to know the student before work commences on the paper. An outline or rough draft will then be submitted to me so that I do not influence any initial thoughts by the student. After sharing comments and suggestions, the student will write a second draft which will also be reviewed by PHWW.
I have taught every grade from 2nd through eleventh grade, have worked with college students on senior theses, have trained adults how to drive transit buses, and have guided snowmobile expeditions in the wilds of western of Wyoming.
Writing is not a science and in order to prosper, a student must be comfortable putting a piece of themselves into their writing. As a result, there must be a sense of trust between student and teacher.
