About Tabitha

I have always had a passion for teaching for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would set up my stuffed animals in my room and pretend to teach them. As I grew older I realized teaching children was my passion. I got jobs babysitting, nannying, etc. In college I was an Education major and tooks courses specifically for teaching students with disabilities. I worked as an Autism Instructor for a year and a half and taught students with autism. I helped them develop skills, took them out into the community, and developed in-depth individualized plans for each students. One of the best feelings in the world is seeing students retain information you taught them and practice it in their everyday life.

I absolutely love working with kids and seeing them grow as individuals. I put my heart into the work that I do and when I see kids benefiting from it, I am beyond overjoyed. I believe every child has the potential to be great. I make sure the students I teach know that they can achieve literally anything they want to achieve. An educators job is to provide students with the tools they need to be successful. It is crucial educators understand this and can adapt their teaching styles to the students' needs.

I have always wanted to teach for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would set up all my stuffed animals in a classroom-like setting and teach them. I have always loved working with kids and I have a passion for helping them grow and achieve everything they want. One of the best feelings in the world is seeing a student you've been working with succeed and grow as an individual.

I am currently pursuing my Bachelors degree with two semesters remaining. I began college as an Education major so I have taken many courses related to teaching students. I also tutored students when I was in high school in the subjects of English and History.

I was an Autism Instructor for a year and a half and I worked with students with autism. I helped them develop new skills, took them out into the community, and created in-depth learning plans for each of them.

I have also worked as a nanny and one of my job duties was tutoring the children and assisting them with homework.

When working with a new studnet, I like to ask them questions about themselves and their learning styles so I can learn more about them and adapt my teaching style to how they learn best.

I have worked with students of all age groups- elementary, middle school, and high school.

I would say to always choose an educator that can adapt to your learning style. The educator and student always have to be on the same page about learning material. For example, if you are a visual learner, make sure your educator knows that and can provide the material to you in a visual way.

I volunteer at my church's nursery and recently I have became very close with one of the girls in the nursery who has autism. I worked with students with autism for a year and a half and it has really helped me develop into a better educator. The girl has became very attached to me and asks about me to help her with anything she needs. I think it is one of the best feelings to know that she trusts me and wants me to help her with tasks.
