About Madison

Hello! My name is Maddy and I am currently working towards my Bachelor's in English for Secondary Education to become a teacher. I can help with essays, SAT's, writing, resumes, homework, and anything else you might need help with! I am available daily and would love to get to know you

I have always had a passion for teaching and assisting my classmates in school, which ultimately led to my path in education. After volunteering at a student center in my community, I gained much knowledge and experience working with and teaching students, and I knew that this was the path that I wanted to continue my studies in.

My knowledge for tutoring students is brought upon by my previous experience at an after-school help center for students in K-8th grade. I am currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in English for Secondary Education, so I have much experience in the education field.

When working with a new student, I like getting to know their backgrounds and understand what areas they need help with. This allows me to build comfort with them and assist their needs to the best of my ability.

I have worked with low-income students in K-8th grade. The students I worked with were in need of guidance and support that they did not receive at home as most parents of these children were working full-time. This experience introduced me to students from varying backgrounds and taught me how to handle students.

Advice that I would give is to be open and do not feel ashamed. Teachers are here to help, so it is easiest when our students can share what they are having trouble with and be willing to tackle these difficulties. Whether you need help with reading, writing, or spelling, perfection takes time and we understand that. Communication is important so that we can give you what you need to succeed.

Due to the pandemic, I have not been able to work with students as much as I would like. Recently I have been working with my younger brother on his online classes as he is entering the 7th grade and his work is getting difficult in such a short period of time. The transition has been hard, but I enjoy helping him complete his work and grasp difficult concepts.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to teachers about your needs, ask yourself:

What is the problem and why?

What do I need help understanding?

What do I want to achieve?
